...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CDT MONDAY...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of central Illinois, east central Illinois, southeast
Illinois, and west central Illinois, including the following
areas, in central Illinois, Christian, De Witt, Logan, Macon,
Marshall, Mason, McLean, Menard, Peoria, Piatt, Shelby,
Tazewell, and Woodford. In east central Illinois, Champaign,
Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Moultrie, and
Vermilion. In southeast Illinois, Clay, Crawford, Effingham,
Jasper, Lawrence, and Richland. In west central Illinois,
Cass, Morgan, and Scott.

* Until 7 AM CDT Monday

* Periods of heavy rainfall are expected through this evening.
Around another 1 inch of rain is expected by midnight tonight,
with locally 1 to 2 inch amounts from heavier rains in
stronger thunderstorms. The threat of heavy rain will diminish
with passage of a cold front during mid evening, but runoff
from heavy rains will likely continue through tonight.

* In addition to potential flooding of streets and roads in
flood prone areas, area rivers and streams are also likely to
experience flooding. This would persist for several days after
the rain ends.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION
especially if driving. Never drive across a flooded roadway. You
should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
