* Until 815 PM CDT

* At 418 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.
Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in
the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chicago, Elgin, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Palatine, Des
Plaines, Mount Prospect, Hoffman Estates, Elmhurst,
Carpentersville, Addison, Algonquin, Belvidere, Woodstock, Rolling
Meadows, Roselle, Lake Zurich, Franklin Park, Sycamore and
Wauconda.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
Monday morning.
* Impact...At 7.5 feet...Park areas are inundated near Salt Creek.

* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
early Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 18.5 feet...Flood waters affect residential areas of Big
Bend Drive, Mason Lane, River Road, and Howard.

* At 432 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Bartlett, or
over Dupage Airport, moving southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Chicago, Naperville, Elgin, Schaumburg, Bolingbrook, Wheaton,
Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Lombard, Carol Stream, Addison, St.
Charles, Glen Ellyn, West Chicago, Westmont, Maywood, Roselle,
Lisle, Villa Park and Brookfield.
