AND SOUTHWEST IOWA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN
CENTRAL IOWA...JASPER...MARSHALL...POLK...POWESHIEK AND TAMA.
IN SOUTH CENTRAL IOWA...APPANOOSE...CLARKE...DECATUR...LUCAS...
MADISON...MAHASKA...MARION...MONROE...RINGGOLD...UNION...
WARREN AND WAYNE. IN SOUTHEAST IOWA...DAVIS AND WAPELLO. IN
SOUTHWEST IOWA...TAYLOR.

* UNTIL 7 AM CDT WEDNESDAY

* THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINS HAVE ALREADY PRODUCED RAINFALL
AMOUNTS OVER TWO INCHES ACROSS PORTIONS OF MADISON...WARREN AND
MARION COUNTIES RESULTING IN FULL DITCHES AND WATER FLOWING OUT
OF FIELDS. ADDITIONAL STORMS ARE FORMING ALONG A WESTERN IOWA
FRONTAL BOUNDARY AND COULD PRODUCE MORE HEAVY RAINS OVER MUCH
OF THE WATCH AREA THIS EVENING.

* AREA SOILS ARE ALREADY SATURATED FROM PREVIOUS HEAVY RAINFALL.
ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL COULD LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING WITH
RAPID RISES IN SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

A LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM CORNING THROUGH
GREENFIELD AND GUTHRIE CENTER TOWARD ADEL...AND WERE MOVING EAST
AT 25 TO 30 MPH. THESE SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE
RAINFALL OVER AN INCH PER HOUR RESULTING IN PONDING WATER ON
ROADS...RAPID RISES IN SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS...AND LOW
VISIBILITIES AS THEY MOVE THROUGH CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN IOWA THIS
EVENING. MOTORISTS ALONG INTERSTATE 80...INCLUDING AROUND THE DES
MOINES METRO AREA...SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR THESE CONDITIONS.
INTERSTATE 35 SOUTH OF DES MOINES MAY BE AFFECTED AS WELL.
