...Dangerous Heat Once Again This Afternoon...

A heat advisory remains in effect for the area, as heat index
values will continue climbing to between 100 and 105 degrees this
afternoon making for dangerous heat conditions. A gusty southwest
wind around 10 to 20 mph at times may bring some minor cooling
relief, but it could also increase the risk for dehydration. If
you plan to be outside this afternoon avoid prolonged exposure to
the heat or any strenuous activity. Drink plenty of non-alcoholic
fluids to avoid dehydration. Be sure to take frequent breaks in an
air-conditioned room. Also, be sure to check on relatives and
neighbors, and don't forget about the pets. Never leave infants,
children or pets in a parked car in these dangerous heat
conditions, even for a minute. Be sure to look before you lock
your vehicle.
