...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST
* WHAT...A second round of freezing rain is expected late tonight
into Tuesday morning. The lull between the two events with very
light freezing drizzle will continue this evening. Another tenth
to two tenths of freezing rain will be possible overnight with
the heavier totals along the southern edge of the advisory.
Freezing rain may be mixed with light snow and sleet far
northwest. Total ice accumulations with the two rounds of
freezing rain will generally up to two tenths with locally
higher amounts are possible.
* WHERE...Portions of northern and western Iowa, mainly along
and west of a line from Hampton through Boone to Audubon.
* WHEN...Until noon CST Tuesday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The ice will result in difficult to
dangerous travel conditions, including the morning commute
Tuesday. In addition, gusty north winds developing Tuesday
afternoon may cause ice coated trees and powerlines to break
and possibly fall, leading to the potential for power outages.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling
from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
