THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of north central Georgia...northeast Georgia and west
central Georgia...including the following areas...in north
central Georgia...Barrow...Clayton...Dawson...DeKalb...
Fayette...Forsyth...Gwinnett...Hall...Henry...Lumpkin...
Newton...North Fulton...Rockdale...South Fulton and Walton. In
northeast Georgia...Banks...Clarke...Jackson...Madison...
Oconee and White. In west central Georgia...Coweta and
Spalding.

* From 8 PM EDT this evening through Monday afternoon

* Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected, with the bulk
of the rainfall occurring tonight and Monday morning.

* Even with somewhat dry soil conditions, rainfall this intense
will likely lead to rises in creeks and rivers which may go
out of their banks. High water will not recede until well
after the rain has ended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

EDT MONDAY...

* Locations...Much of north and central Georgia, west of an
Athens to Abbeville line. Elevations above 2000ft will see
even greater impacts.

* Winds...East winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 35 to 40 mph.
Gusts to 45 mph likely at higher elevations.

* Timing...Tonight

* Impacts...With heavy rainfall during this time, some trees may
be downed. Unsecured outdoor items may be blown around.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least
20 mph...or gusts to 35 mph or stronger are expected. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.
