The National Weather Service in Key West has issued a
* FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
Lower Keys in Monroe County in Florida...
* Until 315 PM EST
* At 1216 PM EST...Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
HEAVY RAIN which will cause SIGNIFICANT FLOODING in the advisory
area. Rainfall amounts of 2.66 inches have been recorded so far at
Cudjoe Key. Furthermore, an additional 1 to 2 inches is possible
over the next hour or so.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...Niles
Channel Bridge, Summerland Key, Upper Sugarloaf Key, Cudjoe Key, Big
Torch Key and Sugarloaf Key.
This includes US 1 between mile markers 17 and 26.
A flood advisory means widespread significant ponding of water and street
flooding in urban areas is occurring or is imminent.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
without stalling out.
