The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Lake Wind
Advisory, which is in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening.

* WINDS...Southwest winds around 20 mph with frequent gusts around
30 mph.

* IMPACTS...Strong and gusty winds will produce rough and choppy
boating conditions on area lakes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Brevard County in Florida...
Southeastern Orange County in east central Florida...
Northeastern Osceola County in east central Florida...

* Until 600 PM EDT

* At 454 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were
tracking severe thunderstorms over eastern Osceola and extreme
southeastern Orange counties, moving northeast at 55 mph. Another
severe thunderstorm was located over Palm Bay moving north at 55
mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Palm Bay, Melbourne, Titusville, Rockledge and Cocoa.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

If on or near the Intracoastal Waterway, get away from the water and
move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out
to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

RIVER...BREVARD...NORTHWESTERN ST. LUCIE COUNTY...SOUTHEASTERN
ORANGE AND SOUTHEASTERN OSCEOLA COUNTIES UNTIL 600 PM EDT...

At 424 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking
a line of fast moving showers and thunderstorms from New Smyrna
Beach south into Okeechobee County. The line of showers and
thunderstorms was moving east at 40 mph though individual cells were
moving northeast between 45 and 50 mph.

Brief but intense wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph have been occurring
with these fast moving showers and brief storms, and will continue
to do so.

Locations impacted include...
Okeechobee, Vero Beach, Palm Bay, Melbourne, Titusville and
Rockledge.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Melbourne.
