MOUNTAINS...WEST ELK MOUNTAINS... AND RUBY RANGE...

THE COLORADO AVALANCHE INFORMATION CENTER HAS ISSUED AN AVALANCHE
WATCH FOR THE MOUNTAINS OF THE STEAMBOAT...ASPEN...AND GUNNISON
AREAS. A STRONG WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT THE AREA STARTING SATURDAY
NIGHT. AVALANCHE DANGER WILL INCREASE RAPIDLY AS SNOW ACCUMULATES AND
DRIFTS. BACKCOUNTRY AVALANCHE CONDITIONS COULD BECOME VERY DANGEROUS
ON SUNDAY. TRAVEL IN OR BELOW AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...12 TO 24 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS
OVER WEST AND NORTHWEST FACING SLOPES.

* WINDS...WEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.

* IMPACTS...ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL RESULT IN ICY AND SNOW PACKED
ROADS AND HIGHWAYS INCLUDING RABBIT EARS PASS. THE COMBINATION
OF SNOW...BLOWING SNOW AND FOG WILL LIMIT VISIBILITY BELOW 1
