* A PORTION OF CENTRAL CALIFORNIA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
AREAS...KERN COUNTY MOUNTAINS...MARIPOSA, MADERA, AND FRESNO
COUNTY FOOTHILLS...TULARE COUNTY FOOTHILLS AND TULARE COUNTY
MOUNTAINS.

* FROM 4 AM PST SUNDAY THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING

* PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN OVER THE LOWER ELEVATIONS OF THE SIERRA
FOOTHILLS AND KERN COUNTY MOUNTAINS. RAINFALL TOTAL AMOUNTS OF
1 TO 2.5 INCHES WILL BE LIKELY OVER THE WEST AND NORTH FACING
MOUNTAIN SLOPES. SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO RISE SUNDAY
AFTERNOON RESULTING IN ADDITIONAL RUNOFF FROM SNOW MELT.

* LANDSLIDES AND ROCKSLIDES ARE VERY COMMON DURING INTENSE RAIN
EVENTS AND COULD LEAD TO ROAD CLOSURES.

* TRAVEL COULD BE VERY DIFFICULT. SOME ROADS MAY BE FLOODED OR
IMPASSABLE. AVOID DRIVING THROUGH UNKNOWN DEPTHS OF WATER...

* WINDS...SOUTHWEST 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 70 MPH.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL CONTINUE OVER THE SIERRA AS AN INTENSE STORM
MOVES INTO THE REGION. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL WILL FALL SUNDAY
MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING. SNOW LEVELS WILL START OUT NEAR
4000 FEET RISING DURING THE DAY SUNDAY TO AROUND 6000 FEET. SNOW
LEVEL THEN LOWERING SUNDAY NIGHT TO NEAR 3000 FEET BY MONDAY
MORNING.

* IMPACTS...THE HEAVY SNOW WILL MAKE MANY ROADS IMPASSABLE AND
MAY PRODUCE WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES DUE TO THE WEIGHT OF THE
SNOW ON TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES. STRONG WINDS WILL LEAD TO
BLOWING SNOW...REDUCED VISIBILITY...AND ADDITIONAL POWER
OUTAGES.
