THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* A PORTION OF CENTRAL CALIFORNIA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
AREAS...KERN COUNTY MOUNTAINS...MARIPOSA, MADERA, AND FRESNO
COUNTY FOOTHILLS...TULARE COUNTY FOOTHILLS AND TULARE COUNTY
MOUNTAINS.

* THROUGH THIS EVENING

* PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN OVER THE LOWER ELEVATIONS OF THE SIERRA
FOOTHILLS AND KERN COUNTY MOUNTAINS. RAINFALL TOTAL AMOUNTS OF 1
TO 2.5 INCHES WILL BE LIKELY OVER THE WEST AND NORTH FACING
MOUNTAIN SLOPES. SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO RISE TODAY
RESULTING IN ADDITIONAL RUNOFF FROM SNOW MELT.

* LANDSLIDES AND ROCKSLIDES ARE VERY COMMON DURING INTENSE RAIN
EVENTS AND COULD LEAD TO ROAD CLOSURES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 4 TO 8 INCHES. UP TO 2
INCHES POSSIBLE AT PASS LEVEL.

* TIMING...SNOW IS EXPECTED TO START LATE TONIGHT WITH THE
HEAVIEST SNOWFALL OCCURING SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY
EVENING. SNOW LEVELS WILL START OUT NEAR 4500 FEET RISING
DURING THE DAY SUNDAY TO AROUND 7000 FEET. SNOW LEVEL LOWERING
AGAIN LATE SUNDAY NIGHT DOWN TO PASS LEVEL MONDAY MORNING.
