NEVADA COUNTIES...

Officials have reported that Clear Creek out of Whiskeytown Dam in
Shasta County will exceed the safe channel capacity and will flood.
Downstream locations impacted includes the Environmental School and
other residents in low lying areas near the creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* A portion of Central California, including the following areas,
Mariposa, Madera, and Fresno County Foothills, Sierra Nevada
from Yosemite to Kings Canyon, Tulare County Foothills, and
Tulare County Mountains below 7,000 feet.

* Through 10 pm this evening.

* Rain will continue along the west slopes of the Sierra this
morning with additional rainfall of a quarter of an inch to a
half inch.

* The combination of already wet soils and additional rain could
aggravate the flood threat in poor drainage areas and along
small streams and creeks this morning. Mud slides, rock slides
and fallen trees are still possible in some locations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PST THIS
EVENING...

* Main impacts: Travelers may experience delays. Chain controls.
Poor visibility due to snow and strong southwest wind gusts to
50 mph will make travel hazardous.

* Confidence...High.

* Locations...Interstate 80 over Donner pass, Highway 50 over
Echo summit, Highway 88 over Carson pass, and Lassen park.

* Timing...Periods of heavy snow through midday before tapering
off to flurries by this evening.

* Snow amounts...Additional accumulations up to a foot down to
around 5500 feet with up to 2 feet along the crest.

* Snow levels...4000 to 5000 feet.

conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food,
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Strong winds
are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or
impossible.

...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PST THIS
EVENING ABOVE 7000 FEET...

* ACCUMULATIONS...Additional snow accumulation of 6 to 12
inches from Kings Canyon north to Yosemite National Park
above 7000 feet. 4 to 10 inches of additional snow
accumulation from Kings Canyon south to the Tulare and
Kern County border above 7000 feet.

* LOCATIONS...Southern Sierra Nevada from Yosemite National Park
to the Tulare and Kern County border above 7000 feet.

* HAZARD TYPES...Moderate to occasionally Heavy snow and blowing
snow.

* TIMING...through 10 pm this evening.

* IMPACTS...The heavy snow will make many roads impassable and
may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the
snow on tree limbs and power lines. Strong winds will lead to
blowing snow...reduced visibility...and additional power
outages.

* WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
