...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM PDT THIS EVENING
FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE ANTELOPE VALLEY...

* Winds...Southwest winds will increase to 15 to 30 mph with
gusts to 40 mph on Monday morning and remain gusty through
Monday evening. Winds may be locally stronger near the
foothills of the Antelope Valley.

* Relative Humidity...Humidities will fall to generally between
3 to 10 percent on Monday and remain below critical humidity
through Monday evening.

* Impacts...If fire ignition occurs, conditions are favorable
for extreme fire behavior which would threaten life and
property.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY
MOUNTAINS AND SANTA CLARITA VALLEY...

* Winds...Southwest winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph with
gusts to 35 mph on Monday morning and remain gusty through
Monday evening. Local southwest winds will increase to 20 to
30 mph with gusts to 45 mph over the interior foothills into
the Antelope Valley.

* Relative Humidity...Humidities will fall to generally between
6 to 13 percent on Monday and remain below critical humidity
through Monday evening.

* Impacts...If fire ignition occurs, conditions are favorable
for extreme fire behavior which would threaten life and
property.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM PDT THIS EVENING...

* TEMPERATURES...Max temperatures will range from the mid 90s to
around 106 degrees across the San Fernando Valley, with highs
ranging from the upper 90s to around 103 across the Santa
Clarita Valley today.

* IMPACTS...The very high temperatures will create a dangerous
situation in which there is an increased threat of heat
related illnesses. Temperatures inside vehicles, even if the
windows are partially open, can quickly rise to life-
threatening levels. The extended heat wave will also bring
elevated fire danger through the weekend.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned
room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
