THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* A PORTION OF CENTRAL CALIFORNIA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
AREAS...KERN COUNTY MOUNTAINS...MARIPOSA, MADERA, AND FRESNO
COUNTY FOOTHILLS...TULARE COUNTY FOOTHILLS AND TULARE COUNTY
MOUNTAINS.

* UNTIL 10 AM PST THIS MORNING

* PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN OVER THE LOWER ELEVATIONS OF THE SIERRA
FOOTHILLS AND KERN COUNTY MOUNTAINS. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL BE
LIKELY OVER THE WEST AND NORTH FACING MOUNTAIN SLOPES ON TOP ON
AN ALREADY SATURATED GROUND.

* LANDSLIDES AND ROCKSLIDES ARE VERY COMMON DURING INTENSE RAIN
EVENTS AND COULD LEAD TO ROAD CLOSURES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

* Until 930 AM PST Monday

* At 1125 PM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
moderate to heavy rain which will cause urban and small stream
flooding in the advisory area. High water flows have been reported
along the North Fork of Willow Creek.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Oakhurst, Yosemite Lakes, Bootjack, Three Rivers, Mariposa, Metcalf
Gap, Shadequarter Mtn, Mountain Rest, Fence Meadow, Grant Grove,
Big Meadows, Case Mountain, Shaver Lake, Lodgepole, Coarsegold,
Squaw Valley, Pinehurst, Hurley, Auberry and Trimmer Springs.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM PST THIS
MORNING...

* LOCATIONS...SOUTHERN SIERRA NEVADA ABOVE 4000 FEET.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 2 TO 4 FEET.

* WINDS...WEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.

* TIMING...SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE OVER THE SIERRA THIS MORNING
AS AN INTENSE STORM MOVES THROUGH THE REGION. THE HEAVIEST
SNOWFALL WILL FALL THROUGH THIS EVENING. SNOW LEVELS WILL LOWER
TO NEAR 3000 FEET THIS MORNING.

* IMPACTS...THE HEAVY SNOW WILL MAKE MANY ROADS IMPASSABLE AND
MAY PRODUCE WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES DUE TO THE WEIGHT OF THE
SNOW ON TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES. STRONG WINDS WILL LEAD TO
BLOWING SNOW...REDUCED VISIBILITY...AND ADDITIONAL POWER
OUTAGES.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
