...Elevated Fire Danger through next weekend due to periods of
gusty offshore winds with very warm and dry conditions...

An extended period of weak to locally moderate offshore winds will
bring elevated fire weather concerns to much of Southwest
California through next weekend. Offshore winds are expected to
increase in areal coverage and intensity Monday through early
Wednesday, with gusts generally in the 30 to 40 mph range each
day across the mountains and valleys of Los Angeles and Ventura
counties. Isolated gusts up to 45 mph will be possible across wind
favored mountain locations. A brief period of offshore winds are
expected to surface Monday and Tuesday mornings across the
Ventura County coastal plain and from Malibu to the county line.

The increased offshore flow will continue to bring a warming and
drying trend to the region during the next few days. Temperatures
are expected to climb into the 90s Monday through Wednesday across
the valleys and portions of the coastal plain where offshore winds
surface. While the offshore flow weakens some late Wednesday into
Thursday, very warm and dry conditions will prevail away from the
coast. There is the potential for another ramp up in offshore
winds and even hotter temperatures next weekend, with warmest
valley locations possibly exceeding 100 degrees.

The combination of gusty offshore winds, very warm temperatures,
low humidities, and very dry fuels will bring elevated fire danger
to much of Southwest California through next weekend. Brief
critical fire weather conditions will be likely each day from
Monday through Wednesday, and possibly again next weekend. As a
result, there will be an increased risk for fire ignitions with
a threat for large fire growth and erratic fire behavior.
Residents of Southwest California are urged to take extra
precaution this week around sources of fire ignitions and
monitor for the latest forecast updates and possible Red Flag
