The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Hard
Freeze Warning, which is in effect until 8 AM PST Wednesday.

* TEMPERATURE...Overnight low temperatures of 22 to 29 degrees.

* TIMING....Coldest Tuesday morning, widespread lows in the low to
upper 20s with several hours of subfreezing temperatures

* IMPACTS...Freezing temperatures can damage or kill plants and
trees that are sensitive to cold. Consider wrapping external
pipes which may be vulnerable to freezing. Please check on the
elderly and make sure your animals have a warm shelter.


A Hard Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are
imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and
other sensitive vegetation.

...Northern Sierra Snow Today...

.A cold system from western Canada will bring scattered snow
showers mainly late this morning through this afternoon across
the northern Sierra including I-80 and Highway 50. Additional snow
accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected near the Sierra crest. A
dusting of snow is possible down to 1000 feet.

Plan on slippery road conditions and possible travel delays. Lower
elevations could see slick roads.
