...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON
TO 9 PM PST TUESDAY...

* SURF...SURF OF 4 TO 8 FEET TODAY WILL BUILD TO 10 TO 16 FEET BY
LATE FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. THE SURF WILL DIMINISH SUNDAY AND
MONDAY BUT WILL REMAIN ABOVE HIGH SURF THRESHOLDS.

* IMPACTS...LARGE AND POWERFUL SURF WITH DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS
AND BREAKING WAVES ON ROCKS AND JETTIES. DAMAGE TO PIERS IS
POSSIBLE ON SATURDAY...AS WELL AS COASTAL FLOODING OF BEACH
PARKING LOTS AND WALKWAYS. VENTURA HARBOR WILL HAVE BREAKING
WAVES ACROSS THE ENTRANCE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF AND RIP CURRENTS WILL
MAKE SWIMMING AND ROCK JETTIES DANGEROUS.

REMEMBER...SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD. IF CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT
REMAIN CALM. DON'T FIGHT THE CURRENT. SWIM IN A DIRECTION
FOLLOWING THE SHORELINE. WHEN OUT OF THE CURRENT...SWIM BACK TO
SHORE. IF TIRED...FLOAT OR TREAD WATER UNTIL OUT OF THE RIP
CURRENT. IF UNABLE TO ESCAPE...FACE THE SHORE AND CALL OR WAVE
FOR HELP.

SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS WILL LINGER THROUGH THIS EVENING. A
SECOND STORM WILL BRING MORE HEAVY SNOW FRIDAY INTO EARLY
SATURDAY.

* SNOW LEVELS...SNOW LEVELS WILL LOWER TO 4500 TO 5000 FEET TODAY
AND DOWN RISE TO 5500 FEET LATE TONIGHT AND THEN FALL AGAIN TO
3500 TO 4000 FEET LATE FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...5 TO 10 INCHES ABOVE 6000 FEET WITH EACH OF
THE FIRST TWO STORMS THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS
ARE POSSIBLE AS LOW AS 4000 FEET THIS MORNING AND SATURDAY.

* WINDS...SOUTH WINDS 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 55 MPH THROUGH
THIS MORNING...THEN AGAIN FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

* IMPACTS...PERIODS OF SNOW...GUSTY WINDS...AND LOW VISIBILITIES
WILL MAKE FOR DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS AND COULD LEAD TO
TRAVEL PROBLEMS ON HIGHER MOUNTAIN ROADS.

ONLY TRAVEL INTO THE MOUNTAINS IN AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST
