FOR LOWER COASTAL MOUNTAIN SLOPES AND ADJACENT VALLEY AND COASTAL
AREAS...

* WIND...Areas of northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45
mph. Isolated gusts to 55 mph below the Cajon Pass and near the
coastal foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains.

* LOCATION...Strongest winds along and below coastal mountain
slopes and passes and canyons. Lowest humidities in the Inland
Empire and inland Orange County.

* HUMIDITY...Lowest daytime humidities around 15 percent.

* TIMING...Strongest and most widespread winds during the morning
with lowest humidities winds Sunday morning with lowest
humidities from late morning through the afternoon.

* OUTLOOK...Winds will weaken tonight and Monday.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop may spread rapidly.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and heat can contribute to
extreme fire behavior.

NOON PST SUNDAY...

* AFFECTED AREA...Portions of Southeast California, including
parts of Joshua Tree National Park and the Interstate 10
corridor.

* TIMING...Late this evening until midday Sunday.

* WINDS...North 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph.

* IMPACTS...Strong cross winds will make driving difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles on east-west oriented
roads. Use extra caution. Localized blowing dust is also
possible, reducing visibilities.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of between
30 and 40 mph are expected, or wind gusts of between 40 and
58 mph. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially
for high profile vehicles. In addition, strong winds over desert
areas could result in briefly lowered visibilities to well under
a mile at times in blowing dust or blowing sand. Use extra
caution.

through the morning...then decreasing and becoming more
localized during the afternoon and evening.

* Location...Along and below coastal mountain slopes and passes
and canyons.

* Visibility...Locally reduced at times in blowing dust.

* Impacts...The winds will make driving difficult...especially for
motorists with high profile vehicles. Watch for broken tree
limbs. Areas of blowing dust could locally reduce visibility at
times.
