MORNING THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* A portion of south central Arizona, including the following
areas, Apache Junction/Gold Canyon, Dripping Springs, East
Valley, Fountain Hills/East Mesa, Globe/Miami, Northwest Pinal
County, Pinal/Superstition Mountains, San Carlos, Sonoran
Desert Natl Monument, South Mountain/Ahwatukee, Southeast Gila
County, Southeast Valley/Queen Creek, Superior, and West Pinal
County.

* From 11 AM MST this morning through this evening

* Numerous showers and thunderstorms producing locally heavy
rainfall

* Normally dry washes may quickly fill with rapidly flowing
water. Roads built through these washes may become impassible
and a threat to motorists traveling through parts of south-
central Arizona.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that flooding of washes, creeks and
other drainage areas is possible within the watch area. If you
are in the watch area, you should watch the weather and be
prepared to take immediate action should heavy rain and flooding
occur or a flash flood warning be issued.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* All of southeast Arizona.

* Through 11 PM MST this evening

* Expect numerous showers with scattered thunderstorms capable of
producing heavy rainfall and flash flooding at times into this
evening.

* Areas along washes, small streams and drainages plus wildfire
areas such as the Frye burn scar will be susceptible to
flooding. Low water crossings and poorly drained roads may
become impassable. Rural and dirt roads may also become washed
out at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions are becoming favorable
for widespread flash flooding to develop. Monitor forecasts
closely and be ready to take quick action if Flash Flood Warnings
are issued.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize
the dangers of flash floods. If Flash Flooding is observed...act
quickly. Turn around and take another route.

stations...or your cable television provider for updates on this
flash flood threat.
