The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of north central Arizona and northeast Arizona,
including the following areas, Coconino Plateau, Grand Canyon
Country, Kaibab Plateau, Little Colorado River Valley in
Coconino County, and Marble and Glen Canyons, Black Mesa Area,
Chinle Valley, Chuska Mountains and Defiance Plateau, Northeast
Plateaus and Mesas Hwy 264 Northward, and Northeast Plateaus and
Mesas South of Hwy 264.

* Until midnight MST tonight

* Abundant monsoon moisture is expected to produce showers and
thunderstorms through this evening. The stronger storms will be
capable of dropping rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches in a
short period of time.

* Areas of particular concern include the Grand Canyon, Havasu
Canyon and Supai, Antelope Canyon and other slot canyons. Low
water crossings in the watch area will also be susceptible to
flooding today.


A Flash Flood Watch means that developing conditions may lead to
flash flooding within the Watch area. People...especially those
located along area creeks...rivers or other flash flood prone
areas...should continue to monitor later forecasts and be
prepared to take immediate action should flash flood warnings be
