The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a Red Flag
Warning for strong winds, low relative humidity and high fire
danger, which is in effect from 3 PM to 9 PM MST Friday. The Fire
Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...Southern Gila County/Tonto National Forest
Foothills.

* WINDS...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* TIMING...Friday 3PM MST TO 8PM MST.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent.

* IMPACTS...Fuels are dry and fire danger is high. These
conditions combined with low relative humidity and strong
winds will lead to widespread hazardous fire weather
conditions.

The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 2 PM to 8 PM MST Friday.

* AFFECTED AREA...Portions of southern Gila County. Especially
near ridge tops and through terrain gaps.

* TIMING...Friday afternoon and early evening.

* WINDS...West winds near 30 mph with gusts around 45 mph.

* IMPACTS...Driving through mountain passes may be extremely
difficult for high profile vehicles. Unhealthy trees or large
tree branches may fall due to these strong winds.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of between
30 and 40 mph are expected, or wind gusts of between 40 and
58 mph. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially
for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
