...COLDEST AIR OF THE LATE FALL SEASON TO AFFECT ARKANSAS...

AN ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BUILD INTO ARKANSAS TODAY AND
SETTLE OVER THE REGION INTO THE WEEKEND. THE SYSTEM WILL BRING
VERY COLD AIR, WITH LOW TEMPERATURES FRIDAY AND SATURDAY MORNING
FROM THE TEENS TO 20S. WINDS WILL LOWER, BUT AT TIMES, SOME
SINGLE DIGIT TO TEENS WIND CHILLS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER NORTHERN
ARKANSAS. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL ONLY REACH THE 30S TO 40S FRIDAY
TO SATURDAY. THE FRIDAY AND SATURDAY MORNING LOWS ARE LIKELY TO
BE THE COLDEST IN A COUPLE OF WINTERS AT SEVERAL LOCATIONS.

EXTRA PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN TO MINIMIZE THE AFFECTS OF THESE
VERY COLD TEMPERATURES. BE SURE TO CHECK ON THE ELDERLY, OUTDOOR
PETS, AND POSSIBLE FREEZING WATER PIPES. TEMPERATURES WILL
SLOWLY MODERATE OVER THE WEEKEND.
