The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Flash Flood Watch has been expanded in time and location.

* Through early Friday evening.

* Moderate to heavy rains will relax across the area tonight, but
will quickly redevelop Friday. Tropical system Cindy has already
dumped 2 to 4 inches of rain with locally higher amounts up to 6
inches. An additional 2 inches of rain or so is passable Friday
into Saturday.


A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham AL has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Tombigbee River At Demopolis Lock and Dam.
* from Sunday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon...or until the Warning
is cancelled.
* At 8:15 PM Thursday The stage Was 54.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 68.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early Sunday afternoon and
continue to rise to near 69.0 feet by Monday morning. The river
will fall below flood stage by early Tuesday morning.
* Impact...At 68.0 feet...Flooding of lowlands in the area occurs and
cattle should be moved to higher ground.

the Black Warrior River At Selden Lock and Dam.
* from Friday morning until further notice...or until the Warning is
* At 9:15 PM Thursday The stage Was 82.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 90.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow morning and continue
to rise to near 98.0 feet by Sunday morning.
* Impact...At 98.0 feet...Some cabins and trailers along the river
begin to flood.
