...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT AKST TONIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Blizzard
Warning...which is in effect until midnight AKST tonight. The
Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in effect.

* LOCATION...Strongest winds and worst visibility conditions
along the coast however snow and blowing snow will occur
throughout the zone.

* SNOW...3 to 7 inches.

* VISIBILITY...less than 1/4 mile along the coast. Visibilities
reduced to one-half mile at times elsewhere.

* WIND...Northeast wind 30 to 45 mph along the coast and 20 to 35 mph
inland.

* TIMING...Snowfall rates will continue to increase through the
remainder of this morning...with the heaviest snowfall and
strongest winds beginning in the early afternoon. Visibilities
will likely be reduced during the afternoon and evening hours.
Conditions will begin to improve tonight.

* IMPACTS...Snowfall combined with strong winds and blowing snow
will produce white-out conditions. Driving will be very
difficult.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A blizzard warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to white-out
conditions, making travel very difficult. All travel and outdoor
activity is strongly discouraged.

* BLOWING SNOW...with possible blizzard conditions.

* FREEZING RAIN...is possible.

* WINDS...gusting to 40 mph.

* TIMING...Snow and blowing snow with strong winds are expected
to develop Wednesday afternoon and continue through Thursday
afternoon. Freezing Rain is possible Wednesday night and
Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel and outdoor activities will be difficult.
Blizzard conditions are possible.
