...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 9 PM
AKST THIS EVENING ALONG THE COAST FROM NUNIVAK ISLAND NORTHWARD...
* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Plan on difficult travel
conditions. In addition, areas of poor visibility less than one-
half mile are expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5
inches are expected.
* WHERE...Along the Kuskokwim Delta coast from Nunivak Island
* WHEN...Noon to 9 PM today.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause
areas of blowing and drifting snow with visibility as low as
one-half mile. Later Friday night, winds will shift to westerly
with gusts reaching up to 50 mph near the coast. This could
lead to decreased visibility as the new snow is blown around by
the strong winds, but surface visibility is not expected to
decrease below one-half mile.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means periods
of snow and blowing snow will cause primarily travel
difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited
visibilities, and use caution while driving.
