The Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster continues to threaten large portions of the Gulf and perhaps Atlantic coasts. Additional concerns are growing over the possibility of hurricanes further complicating the situation and interfering with response measures. In light of this concern Intellicast has added an additional layer to your WeatherActive Map which outlines the current position of the spill based on NOAA interpretation of satellite imagery. This overlay can be plotted in conjunction with other layers or overlays such as radar and hurricane tracks. We will keep the layer active as long as the threat continues and NOAA continues to issue location estimates.
