1) Did you remove the animated maps?
No, they are still here. When you are on a map that has an animated view, you will see a button in the map controls directly above the map and to the right of the Map Title: [Show Animation (Loop)].

3) Where are the Java Map Loops?
The Java Loop has been discontinued (with no support) in favor of the better, more interactive weather map for a better user experience and to take advantage of modern technologies; however, they are still currently available in the following location:

4) Where is the Radar "Zoom"?
Previously on Intellicast, users would use the "Zoom" feature on our Radar to find a Metro or more Local Region. In actuality, the site was taking you to a new product, and not a "Zoom". These maps still exist on the current site, but are now separate products: Metro Radar and the more detailed 1Km Radar.

5) Why aren't the maps looping?
Please make sure any security settings in your browser or firewall software (particularly ZoneAlarm and Norton Internet Security) is not restricting or disabling animated GIF images.

For ZoneAlarm, users have reported the following possible fix:
  1. Open ZoneAlarm
  2. Navigate to "Privacy"
  3. Navigate to "Ad Blocking"
  4. Click Custom
  5. Un-check Animation in "Ads to Block"
Accelerators may also interfere with image looping, or other aspects of the images beyond the county lines or color tables. Please reconfigure the page loading to disable the accelerator and see if the problems are resolved. Pop-up blockers may also block animated GIF images.

6) How do I save my City/County Overlays?
We have now implemented this feature. As you move from map to map within our site, we will remember your overlay settings on that computer alone. If you use another computer (such as Home vs Work), you will have to re-apply your settings there as well.

7) Where is the Desktop Weather Application?
Our Desktop weather is a legacy product that we no longer support. However, please continue to check our Weather Tools section as we will have it available for download sometime soon. To replace this unsupported application, we are developing other 'widgets' and 'gadgets' for desktops.

8) Is the 10-Day Forecast Available in the Older Site Format?
Yes, when you view your Local Forecast, simply click the button below your INav that has "10-Day Extended", and you will view a page with the vertical format of the older site. You can bookmark this page or Sign-In and use our INav system.

9) Where did the Pro Weather section go?
We have moved the Pro Weather maps into the "National" section of the site. In the Pro Weather Section, there were three groups: Temperature, Precipitation, and Analysis Charts. You can find the Temperature Maps in the National/Temperature group, the Precipitation Maps in the National/Precipitation group, and the Analysis Charts in the National/Analysis group.

10) How do I bookmark the map pages I want?
Intellicast.com has been around nearly 10 years and as we continue to add new features, some times older links expire. While we try to minimize the impact new releases can cause with redirecting our users, occasionally some older links do slip through the cracks. The first thing we'd recommend is updating 'broken links' with the new site. Below is a description of how to do that.

Most maps have both a Regional view and a wider National or World view. Toggling between them can be achieved by clicking the blue-button labeled either 'Regional View' or 'United States'/'World' above the map respectively. This view will be remembered until you switch the Toggle. Saving explicit bookmarks to these pages can be achieved in the following manners:

Wide Views (National or World)
For wider views, be sure to click on the button labeled either 'United States' or 'World'. The address of the page should end in ?location=default. Adding this page to your bookmark list will take you to the wider view for that map.

Regional Views
For regional views, be sure to either select the map from either clicking the region in the Wide View first or by selecting a region from the drop down first. This should give you an address that ends with ?location=USXX0001 (location specific). Adding this page to your bookmark list will take you to the regional view for that region.

Please note when accessing Regional or Wider map views via book mark links, you will in effect be setting the view for your session at that time between regional and wide. Again, to toggle between the two views simply click the blue button above the map or continue using any of your bookmarked maps. Also note that not all maps have Regional views.
